Alright, this one's another favorite of mine. I was definitely inspired by the feeling this SL Photo titled Noir by Verde Otaared evoked.I do feel that my style has definitely grown to expand in my usage of musical vocabulary. It is a gradual evolution as I continue to perform freestyle piano improv.
As I performed Noir, I was seeking to paint a picture where the sonic world it resides in is one that shifts in light and darkness. The small brilliance of missed tones are often a characteristic of my repetition of a mistake. To me these sounds carry with it the beautiful flaws of human existence.

AFTERTHOUGHT:
Human beings can be cruel and unreasonable. People stretch logic and reason to self serving agendas no matter who they are. The black and whiteness of existence with elements of lights convey the frailty of our own humanity. The music is merely the inner thoughts played out in the cold harsh environment of loneliness and our tired existence.
